Louis C.K. Stars in the Animated Comedy The Secret Life of Pets

Posted on June 30, 2016

After Finding Dory, the next big animated feature this summer is Illumination's The Secret Life of Pets. The trailer is hilarious. The narrator is Max (Louis C.K.), the luckiest dog in New York. He feels lucky because of his beloved owner Katie (Ellie Kemper). One day Katie destroys the natural order of things by bringing home Duke (Eric Stonestreet), a giant new dog she got from the pound. Now Max is miserable because the new dog has taken over Katie's affections and Max's sleeping spot.

Duke is a magnet for chaos and gets himself and Max taken away by animal control. But don't worry, there's a plan in place to rescue them. The main theme of the movie is what owner's pets are really up to when they are left alone during the day. The voice talent is excellent: Louis C.K. is perfect as Max, the dog who waits all day for the glorious moment when his owner arrives back from work.

Kevin Hart is hilarious as a scheming bunny named Snowball. Albert Brooks, Jenny Slate, Lake Bell, Hannibal Buress, Steve Coogan, Dana Carvey and Bobby Moynihan also co-star in the film which hits theaters on July 8, 2016. Chris Renaud (Despicable Me, Despicable Me 2) who co-creatd the Minions, directed along with Yarrow Cheney. Take a look:
