Lego Batman Drops a Truth Bomb on the Joker in New Trailer

Posted on November 7, 2016

Warner Bros. just released the fourth Lego Batman trailer and it's just as funny as the other trailers. The trailer opens with Batman (Will Arnett) being feted by the city, surrounded by adoring crowds. The news announcer speculates that the Caped Crusader was heading home to party the night away with all his many friends and adoring activewear models.

But the truth is quite different. He arrives home to the Bat Cave announcing "Computer, I'm home!" We see Batman swimming in his pool with a dolphin, eating his favorite dinner of Lobster Thermidor and trying to figure out how to make his big screen TV work, as he toggles between four HDMI input selections -- none of which seem to be working.

Alfred (Rafe Fiennes) has some harsh truths for him: he needs to raise his young ward Dick Grayson (Michael Cera) and take responsibility for his life. He needs more people in his life, in general. That problem is solved when the new police commissioner Barbara Gordon (Rosario Dawson) announces the police and Batman should work hand in hand -- much to Bruce Wayne's horror.

One of the funniest scenes shows Batman facing down the Joker (Zach Galafianakis). The Joker is devastated to learn that he is not Batman's arch enemy. That honor goes to Superman, Batman tells the Joker who tears up on hearing the news that he is not top villain. Batman cruelly tells him that he "fights around" implying that he really can't be tied down to one nemesis. Take a look:
