Larry David Heckles Donald Trump During SNL Monologue

Posted on November 8, 2015

Donald Trump hosted Saturday Night Live late night and delivered the biggest ratings the show has seen since 2011. During his monologue Trump shared the stage with two other Trumps: Taran Killam and Darrell Hammond. He praised their impersonations of him, but noted that neither actor had his good looks. At that point the heckling started, which was really a jab at the the groups that threatened Lorne Michaels for allowing Trump to host the show.

From off stage someone yelled, "You're a racist!" Trump muttered that he knew this was going to happen and looked to see who it was. The camera cut off stage to Larry David who then said, "Trump's a racist!!! "What are you doing, Larry? Trump asked. Larry shrugged, and said, "I heard that if I yelled that they'd give me five thousand dollars...so I had to do it." "As a businessman, I can fully respect that.," Trump replied. After the broadcast the group Deport Racism tweeted that it would send Larry the $5,000.

Trump seemed quite at ease on the stage and seemed to be having a great time doing the show. His detractors said he did a terrible job and his supporters said he killed it. The truth is he did much better than many major actors and celebrities who have hosted. It's a tough gig and Trump took plenty of jokes at his expense in stride, while seeming like a good sport and being fully in on the joke. Take a look:
