Ice Cube and Charlie Day Brace for an Epic Battle in First Trailer for Fist Fight

Posted on September 24, 2016

Charlie Day and Ice Cube star in the first trailer for the comedy Fist Fight. Charlie plays Andy Campbell, a mild mannered high school teacher who is targeted by Ron Strickland (Ice Cube), another teacher who believes Andy is trying to get him fired from the school. Ron informs Andy, "Im gonna fight you...parking lot. After school. It's on."

Andy wants no part of being in a fight and does everything he can to get out of it, to no avail. He even calls 911, but the operator tells him to go find a teacher. When he tells her he is a teacher at the school, she just laughs at him. Meanwhile the event has gone viral and everyone is planning on being there to witness the fight of the century.

The film also stars Christina Hendricks, Jillian Bell, Dean Norris, Dennis Haysbert and JoAnna Garcia Swisher. It's a comedy, but we do hope that the film is a lot funnier than the trailer. We could understand a high school teacher comedy that has a major scene involving a fist fight. But the entire movie is about one fight? Also, in what universe are teachers allowed to beat each other up in the parking lot without them both being marched off to jail after the first punch is thrown? The film is set to hit theaters on February 17, 2016.

Still, teacher on teacher comedy/violence is very on trend right now. The HBO show Vice Principals is absolutely hilarious. So maybe the next trailer will be better. Take a look:
