Disneynature's Monkey Kingdom Follows Monkeys Living in Ancient Ruins

The next film from Disneynature is called Monkey Kingdom. This is the eight nature movie from from Disneynature. Some of the previous films include Bears, Chimpanzee and African Cats.

Monkey Kingdom follows a group of monkeys living in South Asia. The monkeys, known as the Temple Troop, inhabit an ancient ruins in the jungle. The story follows a newborn monkey and its mother. It also reveals the social hierarchy of the Temple Troop monkeys. Some of the mean top ranking monkeys are determined to keep the monkey mother and her infant confined to their low ranking status in the Troop.

The trailer shows the interesting ruins the monkeys live in. The ruins, which contain staircases and statues, have been overgrown by jungle plants. The trailer also shows the monkeys running through the jungle and jumping in the water. There are also lots of adorable baby monkeys climbing around. Other creatures visible in the trailer include tigers, bears, deer, lizards, scorpions and birds.

The film is directed by Mark Linfield and Alastair Fothergill. It is set to arrive in theaters on Earth Day, which falls on April 17, 2015. The trailer for Monkey Kingdom features Lorde's song "Team." Take a look:
