Deadpool topped the box office again this weekend. It made $31.5 million to bring its total domestic gross to $285 million. This was the third consecutive win for the R-rated Marvel film.

Gods of Egypt was a bomb. It made just $14 million in over 3,110 theaters. The film starring Gerard Butler and Nikolaj Coster-Waldau is being called the first big flop of 2016. It had a big budget of $140 million. Gods of Egypt has a B- CinemaScore. It was followed by Kung Fu Panda 3 which added $9 million during its fifth week and Risen which made $7 million during its second weekend in theaters.

The other two wide releases this weekend also failed to bring very many moviegoers into theaters. Eddie the Eagle made $6.3 million in 2,042 theaters and Triple 9 made $6.1 million in 2,205 theaters. Eddie the Eagle about British ski jumper Michael Edwards has a strong A CinemaScore. Triple 9 - a crime heist thriller starring Casey Affleck, Chiwetel Ejofor and Anthony Macker - has a C+ CinemaScore.

Triple 9 was followed by How to Be Single, The Witch and Race. You can see the complete box office chart for the weekend here.

Deadpool will be up against new opening films Zootopia, London Has Fallen and Whiskey Tango Foxtrot this coming weekend.
