Dane Dehaan Stars in First Trailer for A Cure for Wellness

The first trailer for A Cure for Wellness is out and it's beyond creepy. Dane DeHaan stars as an ambitious young executive who has been dispatched to a remote spa to track down the company's missing CEO. The spa -- or wellness center -- is one strange place. It's expensive, it's located in the Swiss Alps and something is very, very wrong about the entire setup.

The shows us Dane exploring the spa and getting more and more perturbed. We get glimpses of the treatments. A man is submerged in water with a breathing tube and mask. The scientist asks him if he is ready. He nods yes and is submerged. There are lots of tanks with patients floating around, but most of them have no breathing tubes and many of them are being covered with some kind of eel or giant leech. Yep, not our first choice for a spa treatment.

The film was directed by Gore Verbinski (Chronicle, The Ring) and the trailer is really intense. But if you want to dial it up to eleven, go to the film's website, choose a meditation session and prepare to be quite disturbed. The male voice that leads the meditation is so soothing, so reasonable, you don't realize until it's too late that he's just taken you through a guided meditation on how to drown yourself. Or you could choose Air, or perhaps Earth, and meet an equally grisly fate.

The teaser is set to a slowed down version of "I Wanna Be Sedated" by the Ramones, just in case you didn't get that the miracle treatments involve something really weird. In water. The film also stars Mia Goth, Jason Isaacs, Celia Imrie, Susanne Wuest, Carl Lumbly and Adrian Schiller. Take a look:
