Megyn Kelly Lands $10 Million Book Deal

Fox News anchor Megyn Kelly just landed a major book deal with HarperCollins. The publisher announced the deal today. The book will be released by the imprint Harper in the fall of 2016. No details have been released about the book, but it seems likely that it will focus on her time moderating several Republican primary debates for Fox News and her now legendary feud with Donald Trump. Lionsgate announced that it has purchased the rights to Mary Pop Osborne's Magic Treehouse books. Lionsgate is developing the books into multiple live action films. Scholastic Pulls Controversial Picture Book: A Birthday Cake for George Washington

Scholastic has pulled its new children's book A Birthday Cake for George Washington after a tsunami of criticism of the title. The picture book tells the story of George Washington's slave named Hercules and his daughter Delia. Hercules had high status in Washington's household and he is portrayed and being happy and proud of his position. His daughter Delia is shown as being happy to help her father. Read more... Study Finds Books Are Getting Longer and Readers Love It

A new study says that books are getting longer -- and it's all due to the rise of ebooks. According to a survey by Vervesearch the average number of pages has increased by 25% over the past 15 years. Oprah Winfrey Writing Memoir, Launching Book Imprint

Oprah Winfrey is finally writing her life story. She's already working on the first draft of the book which will be published by MacMillan imprint Flatiron Books. The memoir is set to hit bookstores in January, 2017. The memoir will be titled The Life You Want and will be one of the books in Oprah's new book imprint for MacMillan.
