The New York Times has confirmed that it is lifting its paywall this afternoon due to Hurricane Sandy.
NYTimes.com will be free to read until the weather emergency ends.
New York Times spokesperson Eileen Murphy emailed Poynter and confirmed that the paywall is down this afternoon. Normally, you can read only ten stories a month for free if you are not a paid subscriber.
