Kanye West Writes a Poem About McDonald's French Fries for Frank Ocean's New Art Magazine

Posted on September 3, 2016

Kanye West wrote an ode to McDonald's french fries in the first issue of Frank Ocean's new zine, which was released in pop up stores across the nation to coordinate with the launch of his highly anticipated new album Blonde. The New York Times reports that the pop up stores opened in Los Angeles, New York, Chicago and London. The new zine is called Boys Don't Cry; it's an expensively produced art magazine that contains a CD version of the album.

Kanye's poem is entitled "The McDonald's Man" and it describes both the deliciousness of the french fries and apple pies sold at the fast food chain. It also describes a dastardly plan by the french fries. And who could blame them? McDonald's is apparently a veritable hotbed of jealousy and intrigue. It begins:

I Knew The Diet Coke Was Jealous Of The Fries/
Even The McRib Was Jealous Of The Fries/
I Could See It Through His Artificial Meat Eyes/
And He Only Be There Some Of The Time/
Everybody Was Jealous Of Them French Fries/
Except For That One Special Guy/
That Smooth Apple Pie

We really hope Kanye does a video for this one. It's already stuck in our heads. You can read the entire poem here.

McDonald's issued this statement to Time about the poem: "We're lovin' the love for McDonald’s World Famous Fries and Apple Pies.
