http://www.billboard-online.com/ Billboard has everything you could want to know about what is selling in music including the famous Billboard Charts. The site also includes a daily music update, feature articles, answers to your questions by experts in the music business, trivia contests and an events calendar.

Boxoffice Online

For 45 years, Boxoffice magazine has covered the latest happenings in the motion picture industry for a worldwide audience. Now you can read Boxoffice's reviews, interviews and features such as a behind the scene's look at the new James Bond flick "Tomorrow Never Dies" -- all for free.

E! Online

This colorful website version of the cable channel E! will thrill TV and movie fans. Includes features on upcoming movies, interviews with celebrities, movie reviews, contests and online chat. Also has gossipy celebrity articles for those who simply must keep up with the lives of their favorite actors and actresses. A great site -- the movie reviews alone make it worth a visit.

Entertainment Weekly

EW Online is home to a new service, EW Daily, which provides daily coverage of what's happening in the entertainment world, including reviews. The online version is interactive with message boards, reader polls and original features such as "The New Brat Pack " which covers 20 young budding stars. The online version does not contain all the content from the print version. However, be sure to check back for the EW Special Edition (coming in December) which promises to provide audio interviews, archives of the magazine articles and more. This section will be free only to print subscribers.

The Hollywood Reporter

One of the two daily publications which are must-reads for Hollywood industry insiders. Features, interviews, production reports and statistics, and much more. Unusual subscription policy -- the first paragraph of each feature is free, then only subscribers can read the rest of each story. Subscriptions cost $9.95 per month, with 5 free full features included. After that, each feature costs 25 cents to read, 75 cents if it's an archived feature.

The searchable database contains just about every kind of information you could want about a movie and over 120,000 movie reviews. Updated constantly, this site is an invaluable reference resource.

Jam! Canada's Premiere Entertainment Site

Looking for what's hip in Canada? This site has the answers. Provides daily articles on books, movies, music, theater and more. Also contains bestseller charts in books, music and video in both Canada and the U.S. For those who like to engage in online conversation, Jam! also provides Jam Sessions which are unmoderated message boards covering a variety of entertainment-related topics. This site is a fun stop -- be sure to check out its excellent in-depth profiles -- such as the one on musician Alanis Morissette -- and the wonderful All Canadian Music Index.

Playbill

Playbill Online features theatre listings and seating charts for plays On and Off Broadway, regional listings, national theater tours, and selected international listings. The site also gives you a sneak peek inside the business end of the industry with current information on casting, jobs, books, awards, transcripts and articles. Playbill also includes a directory of theatre-related websites, chat, message boards, news and more making it an information warehouse on anything related to the theatre. A must-stop for theatre-lovers.

TicketMaster

You've used TicketMaster to buy tickets for that favorite concert or sporting event. Now, with the help of your favorite credit card, you can do it all in cyberspace. TicketMaster has gone all-out with its website. Easily navigable, with bright, pleasing colors and eye-catching designs, this site is a one-stop shopping mecca for theatre, sports and music tickets. Not everything will put a dent in your credit, however. You can read the Zagat reports for the best in dining in major cities, listen to live acts in the Virtual Live Lounge and read the daily entertainment news -- all without spending a dime.

Billing itself as "The Most Comprehensive Source for TV Information and Listings", Total TV seems bent on taking on traditional powerhouse TV Guide. Includes TV listings for 13 states so far with plans to expand coverage. Features on upcoming shows and interviews with top stars add to the fun for TV lovers.

This comprehensive site has everything the TV and movie buff could want: daily dish, movies, features, interviews, online polls, cartoons, horoscopes, Liz Smith, star photos, chat and full TV and pay-per-view listings for 150 U.S. regions. Great looking site with hip design and easy navigability adds to the appeal of this content-dense site that is every media addict's dream.

Variety Online

Under construction, but promises to be online late this Fall. Variety Online will offer two versions: one for movie buffs, Variety.com, which will include top Daily Variety stories, box office charts, columnists, and reviews which will be free of charge and Variety Extra, which will be aimed at industry professionals and will be subscription-based. Variety Extra will offer all of the features of Variety.com plus the entire text of the offline version, archives and a searchable database of box office and production charts. Should be one of the big sites for the entertainment industry.

Zentertainment

Billed as the online resource for the information junkie, this great resource covers the spectrum of entertainment arena including TV, movies, comics, games, food, toys and everything in between. A new section covering computers, called Zentropy, includes in-depth reviews of the latest audio and graphical design tools. Available free online, on AOL and by email, this resource will please both fans and industry types alike.
