Paris Museum Buys Tiny Charlotte Bronte Manuscript

Charlotte Bronte Young Mens Magazine Number 2

The La Musée des Lettres et Manuscrits in Paris has purchased a tiny manuscript by Charlotte Bronte for 690,000 pounds, about $1.1 million U.S. The pages in the tiny manuscript measure just 35-by-61 millimeters. You can see the auction listing here on sothebys.com.

The tiny magazine is issue #2 of the Young Men's Magazine. Charlotte Bronte created six issues of the magazine at age 14. Charlotte's sisters, Emily and Anne, and her brother, Branwell, helped her create the manuscript, which was set in the fictional world of Glass Town. The Telegraph reports that the miniature magazine weaves a tale of murder and madness.
