Posted on November 3, 2015

Amazon has been selling books online for twenty years. Amazon also helped make ebooks popular through its Kindle platform. Now the online retail giant has opened its first physical bricks-and-mortar bookstore in Seattle.

Amazon is calling the store Amazon Books. It is located in Seattle's University Village. Amazon says in a statement, "Tuesday morning at 9:30, Amazon Books will open its doors. These aren't metaphorical doors: these real, wooden doors are the entrance to our new store in Seattle's University Village."

The store features "highly rated" book sections which used the ratings you find on Amazon.com. Prices at Amazon Books are the same as they are on the amazon.com website. Amazon says, "Amazon Books is a store without walls - there are thousands of books available in store and millions more available at Amazon.com. Walk out of the store with a book; lighten your load and buy it online."

Amazon will also lets you test its Kindle tablets and other devices, such as the Echo and Fire TV, at the Amazon Book store. The new store is open daily from Monday to Friday. Monday to Saturday hours are 9:30 a.m. to 9:00 pm and Sunday hours are 11:00 am to 6:00 pm. The address for the store is 4601 26th Ave NE, Seattle 98105. Amazon says they are next to the Banana Republic and across from Joey Kitchen.
